Susan Shaman

Susan Shaman is Director of Special Projects at the Peach Bottom Group, which is part of The Learning Alliance, and is a guest lecturer in the Executive Doctorate in Higher Education program at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Shaman spent the largest part of her career doing planning and institutional research at Penn where she was ultimately Assistant Vice President for Planning Analysis. Ms. Shaman has worked closely with Professor Robert Zemsky on a wide range of projects.

With Robert Zemsky, Ms. Shaman developed the Enrollment Planning Service for the College Board and the Penn Plan, a financing program for students at the University. She has co-authored a number of articles on planning and institutional analysis. Her research on pricing models with Zemsky for the National Center for Post-secondary Improvement was published in the November/December 1997 Change feature, the Landscape, and in more detail in a monograph in the New Directions for Institutional Research series (2001).

Education: Ms. Shaman did her undergraduate work in mathematics at Brooklyn College and her graduate work in mathematical statistics at Columbia University.
